Punk begun in the 1974 as a jarring, underground uprising against mainstream pop music. Bands like Sex Pistols, Iggy Pop, and Pere Ubu helped bring punk rock back in the mid-1990's. This time the weave of lively, upfront rock music with sweet-sounding pop melodies cooled heels on the MTV. These days, so-called punk pop is the main piece of puzzle in the world of chart music. These ten music tracks are fine starting points to learn punk pop.

1. blink-182 - Enema of the State

In blink-182's inexhaustible endeavour to diminish all grown ups in the vicinity, this tape showed a lady clothed as an enema governess on the booklet. The music inside is youthful and unforgettable including the monumental hit song “Going Away To College.”

2. The Donnas - Spend the Night

Girls perform punk pop, too, and this disc is an abounding proof of that. The group formed after the American rock band Ramones in NY with every member taking the name Donna. Download Paramore to compare.

3. Good Charlotte - Young and the Hopeless

A band from Maryland Good Charlotte with Paul Thomas got into the top ten of the popular music album chart. It's filled with tales of college and difficult parents. The smashing #1 song is “Lifestyles Of the Rich and Famous.”

4. Green Day - Jesus of Suburbia

Later declining from their nineties fleeting surge of popularity, Green Day retreated to the studio to mix punk's 1st rock opera. Despite the fact that the American punk band was anxious about their fan's attitude to Letterbomb, it turned out to be a UK rock classic climbing several charts and winning an award for Best Punk Album of 2004.
