Punk begun in the 1974 as a jarring, underground uprising against mainstream pop music. Bands like Sex Pistols, Iggy Pop, and Pere Ubu helped bring punk rock back in the mid-1990's. This time the weave of lively, upfront rock music with sweet-sounding pop melodies cooled heels on the MTV. These days, so-called punk pop is the main piece of puzzle in the world of chart music. These ten music tracks are fine starting points to learn punk pop.

1. blink-182 - Enema of the State

In blink-182's inexhaustible endeavour to diminish all grown ups in the vicinity, this tape showed a lady clothed as an enema governess on the booklet. The music inside is youthful and unforgettable including the monumental hit song “Going Away To College.”

2. The Donnas - Spend the Night

Girls perform punk pop, too, and this disc is an abounding proof of that. The group formed after the American rock band Ramones in NY with every member taking the name Donna. Download Paramore to compare.

3. Good Charlotte - Young and the Hopeless

A band from Maryland Good Charlotte with Paul Thomas got into the top ten of the popular music album chart. It's filled with tales of college and difficult parents. The smashing #1 song is “Lifestyles Of the Rich and Famous.”

4. Green Day - Jesus of Suburbia

Later declining from their nineties fleeting surge of popularity, Green Day retreated to the studio to mix punk's 1st rock opera. Despite the fact that the American punk band was anxious about their fan's attitude to Letterbomb, it turned out to be a UK rock classic climbing several charts and winning an award for Best Punk Album of 2004.

5. The Lemonheads - It's a Shame About Ray

The Lemonheads' lead singer Evan Griffith Dando is the only punk musician to be known as a true teen heartthrob. By the way the band recorded some breathtaking music, too, featuring “Confetti”, “Download Paramore” and “Mrs. Robinson”.

6. The Offspring - Smash

The Offspring a highly influential American rock band were one of the devoted punk renaissance bands from the mid-90's. Rather often their songs melted with Blues rock and heavy metal with guitar-and-drums-centered sound, but their most popular music is pure punk. “Session” and “Killboy Powerhead” are standouts on this album.

7. Rancid - Journey To The End Of The East Bay

Rancid a lot like such late 1970 classic punk as the Clash. They also use the of pop punk in much of their music.

8. Simple Plan - Still Not Getting Any…

This French Canadian group showed up in the spotlight in October with their album When I'm With You. This 2nd album is even better and contains the hit song “Welcome To My Life.”

9. Sum 41 - All Killer No Filler

The single “All She's Got” helped chuck this studio album into the top 20. Sum 41 introduce intelligent sense of humor into much of their music. Download Paramore to get a feeling of what we are speaking about.

10. Weezer - Surf Wax America (Blue Album)

Although they are esteemed as patrons of the anti-establishment rock music genre, Weezer's music is also true punk pop in style. “My Name Is Jonas” was their first popular song and then a clip putting the rock band in a Happy Days episode helped make the single even bit more popular.
